Maxima in ASCII-Mode

Sometimes you have to run Maxima alone. I prefer to run it through an EMACS-shell instead of the x-terminal. Emacs provides a command line history (CTRL-up/down), and editing functions (cursor left/right, delete).

To do this, start Emacs. Then press Alt-x shell <return>.

Press the Alt-key and <x> at the same time. Then type s-h-e-l-l, press the <return>-key).
